I'm just getting back into road riding after more than 20 years away. I've put my £9:99 CatEye rear light on my new road bike but I'm looking for something brighter and also something to use during the day to alert drivers who text etc to my presence. I've found the Exposure Blaze. I have Exposure front lights already and I like the cable free design and also the internal rechargeable battery, so it seems like a good bet?
I've seen reviews that state that the light is too bright for other road users. Can this actually be true? I'll admit that riding off-road behind a bright light is annoying if you're up close, (so I normally drop back a bit). However on the road can the 80lumen output of the Exposure Blaze really be too much? I'm using to alert others to my presence so surely more power is a good thing?
DSuring the day, pretty much the brighter the better IMO
When dark, I think too bright is quite easily achieved
I prefer lower power and more of.
I wouldn't use a light like that when riding with others.
Currently I have 2 cateye TL-LD610 lights which a few people I work with have said make me very visible. I also think the PDW/Smart 2wattish lights are excellent. Both are a lot cheaper than the blaze and you could buy 2 for less to run one flashing and one static.
I followed someone with this light today. I saw him from a long way off, but when I got close, somehow all I could see was rear light, I couldn't see the rider very well.
It might just be a bit too bright
One or two lights on you bike and one flashing on your helmet. Chili fibre flares were on bogof if you ordered direct from them
