So, I'm off to C-y-B and want to explore the natural super tech trails that are rumored to be around the area.

Can you give me a log or a clue as to where I'm best to look or I could drive along way to drag a big bike along some crappy fire roads & chase alot of paths that go nowhere.

Cheers,

A

Theres some shady directions on the tinternet somewhere for the old natural Pink Heifer trail. No idea if its still there/rideable but reading the directions makes it out to sound excellent!

the old natural pink heifer was that rocky, clay sided gulley wasnt it?

just a case of turning off to the right a few hundred metres before the top of the new section I thought. Havent been there for ages though.

* edit: think it was sanitized out because it was getting torn to shreds and was creating a big drainage channel straight down the fall line - not goof for stability of the bank.

Personally I like the new swoopy BMX track style of the Pink Heifer just for a bit of all out smooth flying.

I went there last year its really good some amazing trails and a couple of blacks, its really well signposted when you get to coed - y - brenin. If you go to the MB wales site they have directions and details of all the trails - enjoy!

I think the OP wanted directions to the natural stuff thats hidden in the woods, not the purpose built trails (which as you say, are excellent).

The original Pink Heifer was a more natural route that flowed around the area covered by the current way-marked stuff. It's still rideable for the most part but some sections are "interesting".

I'd help if I could but I've only ridden sections of it and don't have GPS logs of them I'm afraid. I've always thought there must be more off piste stuff round there but very little info on the web.

Loads of off piste in the area. Some of the best is covered by the following routes although there is loads of other stuff as well.

We were looking down a few interesting turn-offs and wondering while riding the beast on Sat last. Have saved those GPX for some future date when I may own a GPS thingummy.

🙂

On a tangent, the revamped False Teeth is a lot of fun!

I haven't been to CYB riding since the new place opened on the other side of the road. I'm going back for a lads weekend in Summer and I find myself looking forward to it more and more.

I'll miss Sian and her Baked potatoes, though.

ScottChegg - you're right, although it was the beens on a brick of toast and the bowls of rice pudding that I miss 🙂

Who do you think he will be getting the routes off 😉 I'll also try to get a date for a CYB excursion sorted with Paul for sometime this summer.

lol - yeah, I know. Best to deal with the organ grinder eh ? 😉

Trip to CyB would be good, especially with a guide. I love the place and it would be great to see some of the quieter bits of riding there :).
