I'm at a family event in Dawlish next weekend and I'm stopping at Wind Hill on the way down.

I'm looking for somewhere to ride on the way home Sunday. Current plan is Puddletown. I've heard about off piste stuff at Haldon but it's the opposite direction, is it worth it over Puddletown? or is there another better option?

Thanks

Some fairly decent riding at Woodbury Common. Puddletown is nearly 2 hours away!

Sorry just noticed the on the way home bit…where is home would be the obvious question?

I’m no expert but

Woodbury was nice in a small scale sort of way

Dartmoor is a bit more of a detour. But it’s nothing like Kent or Surrey so might be worth a look.

I'd possibly not bother with Haldon off piste at the moment as they are felling.

Woodybury generally is good for an XC ride but does have a small area with jumps etc. which is fun. It depends on what you are after though. If you want berms/jumps then you might be better off with Puddletown on the way home.

Depending on your route home how about the Quantocks?

Woodbury has great trails but you'd really want someone to show you around. More undulating. Haldon is a bit more fire road up, trail down.

You're welcome to tag on to a Sunday Haldon ride if it suits you op. Start about 10:30 or 11 depending upon start point and finish about 2:30. Using official stuff to get about as required. Off piste as lumpy as it gets with what's there depending on what you're up for.

Haldon is great, I'd take Del up on his offer 😁 he knows where the good shit is.

Woodbury is lovely (I'm a bit biased as it's my local).
It's running ever so nice at the moment, and it's got everything from wide open heathland trails with sea views to techy single-track, and even a few short DH runs.
