seeing the minehead thread reminded me that i need to ask this...

I'm off on holiday in june and staying in wheddon cross. One day, me and my mate intend to ride from there to Porlock Weir, meet our other halves and kids for a meal and a pint, and then bike back.

what's the best route for us? what shouldn't we miss?

also, what are the best hour long blasts out from wheddon cross?

thanks in advance!

Search for the old exmoor explorer routes, I think it was 2008/9 that it went to Porlock from WC may be worth a look.

Which ever way you do it you must go down the bridleway from the top of Dunkery beacon to Brockwell gets abit rocky so you will feel like you are still in the Peaks apart from seeing the sea and Wales 😆

Last summer whilst on the annual family camping trip.
Climbed to the Beacon then descended north towards Dickys, made it up as we went along after that, climbing and descending owt that looked promising. We did drop down from Webbers post which was excellent and worth seeking out.
Theres a youtube vid knocking about of loads of good stuff in there, I'll dig it out and email it you (I wont post it on here - it contains stormtroopers 😉 )
