I'll be dropping eldest son back at Exeter Uni next week. Driving back to Ipswich on the Friday and will be passing a few Bike parks. I've been to Windhill (good fun but some features are a bit too big for my skillset) but wondered if you good people could recommend somewhere else for a few hours play to break up the drive?
I'm thinking either Tidworth, Okeford Hill, Rogate? Are there any other lesser known gems?

Swindon?  Rude not to head for the MTB mecca that is the woods behind Nationwide.

Okeford Hill is Saturday only apparently...
Swinley is a bit pedally, and I've been a few times already this year.
Swindon? Bit too gnarly I've heard!

Plenty of less-gnar stuff at Windhill. Tidworth never been to yet but if you're going A303 route then both are on the way. Think Tidworth is similar stuff though. Chalky though so weather dependent.

Rogate is bit out of the way I'd say and it's similar stuff. Nothing too huge though.

Also Aston Hill is an option.

Swinley and likewise at the other end Haldon, don't make an effort to go to either. Okay for a quick motorway spin.

Or something more xc. Pootle around Salisbury plain somewhere, loop around Stonehenge maybe. Loads of byways and bridleways. There's Chilterns further north. Ridgeway even (not done it but keep meaning to). Pedally stuff though and depends what you can cram in for couple of hours.

QE Park - bit south of the optimum route but not massively so.

Wales. A bit of a diversion but you are on a long drive anyway...

Thanks Deadkenny, I hadn't thought of Tidworth. I'll be keeping an eye on the weather.

Reckon it will either be Windhill, Tidworth or Aston Hill now.

Many thanks for the other suggestions!
