They've cut a new trail after mast of zorro so looks like that'll be used. Also spied the end of the new trail that comes out at deliverance. Looks like boundary onto this new trail then onto deliverance. Roll on 9pm

wtf is a "mince tank"??

I'd class it as a 160mm endooro/trail/am bike, as commonly spotted in it's natural habitat of trail centre red under a well nourished 30-40 year old male, more rarely seen being ridden at speed or airborne.

Can't believe they dropped spacker from E2. I'd trade that for jawbone every day of the week.

What's that up above prospacker- down the climb then into that offcambery thing they used in the 2 day enduro? Can't quite get my bearings on that bit

That is a bollocks of a climb in stage 1.

looks pretty good the path from the fire road up towards the old water tank is going to turn to mush though.. The rest should hold up ok..

Well ukge at inners was very tough tracks ranged from sloppy to incredibly slidy today had thunder, hail and rain because the tracks weren't steep and treacherous enough already, final stage was cancelled after a nasty accident possible broken neck ?, hope the ews tracks aren't so punishing as the routes are longer !

Right beer then bed

If I'm reading it correctly

Day 1

S1 = [s]New York, New York[/s] 3G into Splash and Dash with horrible uphill fireroad sprint in the middle

S2 = Jawbone into Walk or Burn

S3 = Minch Moor, Kitty Litter, Pro-spacker

S4 = Cresta, Gold & Deerhunter

Day 2

S1 = Zorro into new trail

S2 = Boundary Trail, Revelation, Deliverance

S3 = Ewok Village, Double X, The Bitch, Super Steep

S4 = Ho Chi Minh, Zoom or Bust, Janet's Brae

Not sure of it's name. Drop in to a right hander through a few bushes, slightly off camber and rooty, it's then in a single track trail down through a recently harvested section and traverse over, the traverse is pretty sludgy and will be a real pain come the weekend, hrough some deep plantation ruts onto the fire road. Sprint along the fire road for 50m and then left into a steep chute, turning right over a big ol exposed root, lots more plantation ruts before joining up with the steep stuff.

The transition between S1 and S2 on Sunday is horrific and it includes Anderson Road! Thank god I'm not in E1!

No idea about most of those trails, but it's going to be great! Would love to take the whole week off and ride everything at least once, but I'll just have to make do with a quick look on Friday

stage 4 top is maybe matador? Just looks to start a bit further south from the top of the push up track

was kinda wishing I'd entered this, but I think a few of these trails in the wet would be pushing my mincing skills a bit.

Looks like it starts on Make or Brake then takes in trails between that and Gold Run.

"Revelation" is what we've been calling Glorious 5 Year Plan. When last I saw it, MC had done something horrible to the surface that made it ride like a slab of clay. I can claim first tyre marks and first crash, they were really very close together 😆

Stage 3, I don't think can be Kitty Litter, it doesn't go that far over. It's either the one from the Classic Enduro or something I don't know.

I'm not even going to try and puzzle out the downhill one, just looks like standard innerleithen enduro- confusing and takes in about 500 different trails on the way down 😆

The map arrived in my inbox last night, (E2). Scary day for me on Saturday it has to be said, but Sunday looks like lots of fun and lots of pedalling, which realistically is more my forte. Good call on getting the tough stuff out of the way on Saturday ! I think my plan will be to ride to survive and keep out of folks way on Saturday and enjoy Sunday to the max.

Northwind: want to chum me on some reconnaissance ? I plan to check out the Caberston stuff on Wednesday night, has been a while since I was last up there sadly. Walking Zorro today and Inners Face on Tuesday night (on foot, as per the regulations Neil !). The rest I know pretty well.

You can buy a fishermans hat with a full head mesh cover 😉 for hanging about in the forest. Tape up any loose clothing to stop them getting up legs/sleeves 😆

For spectating any of the routes on Saturday are good, for day 2 I would say section 7 on stage 2 and section 12 on stage 3 and pretty much all of stage 4.
For the midges I would say Smidge repellent and a midge net just in case.

Looks like a great 2 days riding.......the UKGE at Inners last weekend was superb with best stages I have ridden at an enduro, especially stage 5 but some of these are another level again......Jawburn is gonna be carnage as rode Jawbone a cpl of weeks ago and had forgot how full on it was. I entered the E2 so looking forward to enjoying the stages without turning myself inside out on transitions but flipside is gutted to miss out on riding Prospacker (D1 st3)as its a fantastic trail.

. Why what's wrong with the usual start, apart from having a large tree with my name on it (which is why I always take the chicken run! 🙂

You wont be disappointed... The new line uses the chicken run but it has a strategicly placed tree to catch people out..

Does anyone know for certain whether the end of stage 3 on day 2 is the slightly wiggly trail down to the pond (newer line) or the direct (unrideable in my world) line that's been there a couple of years at least?
Hoping someone has been up there to see which one is taped.
Not gonna get there before the event to find out. Work gets in the road wot !

Did the GT trails today. Surprisingly tame actually though I didn't hit them at race speed. Day 1 is definitely the techy day and day 2 is the all out speed day. Pissing rain just now but it didn't come on until late in the day and the forecast for the rest of the week is good so the trails should hold up.

the squiggly one is the first left after the beeyatch...non? the "direct" one is by the crooked sycamore (??) tree...

Scoob, it's the squiggly one. They've taped it pretty tight in places, looks like I picked the wrong week to fit my 780mm bars 😆

Just in from the GT stages, absolutely soaked... Really good route, I'm particularily pleased with the one I helped build 😉 Horrible liaison from 1 to 2 though. Things got pretty slippy after the rain started properly, watching Crawfy doing his best to end himself right at the bottom of 4 put things nicely in perspective too. Took it pretty steady all day, there's a couple of bits that caused some oooshits. It's going to be a great day

Off to innerz tomorrowz.

Good thread. I'll be coming up from the Lakes on Thursday night so watching this with interest as we'll only have Friday to practice - I'm thinking of practicing 3 stages and riding the other 4 on-sight 😮

BOARD IN BOB i agree with you i rode 1 and 4 at GT today as the other two i have done before and there great fun but cant belive im using this word "tame " that is in comparison to the day 1 trail which i "tried to ride " yesterday 🙄 .
massive kudos to all the guys and girls who gave up there time to cut those new trail great fun at gt today but i have to say jawburn stage two on day 1 is just on another level imho i managed fine today with the exception of the drop off near the end just above peebles hydro .in comparision i felt way out of my comfort zone at caberston and it took me 20 mins to walk down a trail that the local guys on strava are doing it in 5 mins !
cant wait for the weekend
im heading to the top steep section of jawburn on day 1 to watch as i really think it will be carnage !
DAY 2 I think i will head to the bus stops on stage 1 to watch
good luck to anyone of the stw racing

Is anyone able to say what the score is for spectating? I was thinking of heading over to watch some of the carnage on the first couple of stages but are there areas that the organisers are happy/unhappy with you watching from, or is it a free for all?

It's been pretty wet today, be interesting to see how things are holding up by the end of the week....

the ews handout in all the shop in tweed valley advertise spectator hot spots . imho you could do worse than park at caberston cafe in walkerburn and just walk a mile or so to jawburn stage 2 of day 1 . imho

yes i agree that theres time to nip along to the last stage and see some action on the DH trails . jawburn looks imho to be the most challenging to ride at speed 😀

I'm hoping to be heading up to spectate on Saturday. Anyone got an idea roughly what time the racing will start on each of the day 1 stages (Stage 2 Jawburn in particular)? Ta.

I guess the start time at stage 1 will be the only start time, I'm sure once they start arriving at other stages they can go rather than wait for another start time? could be wrong though.

Thanks bigjim. Do you know the start time for stage 1?

Anyone hazard a guess on likely stage 1 completion time and transition time to start of stage 2? Don't want to miss seeing how the best riders do it 🙂

they'll be letting spectators up the fire road climbs also used as transition stages won't they? don't want to pedal there then get turned back...

Caberston stuff is carnage. Saw a French guy dislocate his shoulder on jawburn. Tracks are torn to shreds over there. Inners stage 4 wasn't too bad. Some tricky bits at the very bottom though. Should provide some quality spectating

Not ashamed to admit Jawburn's a bit much for me, in its current state- quite a few bits I'm pretty much falling down instead of riding 😆 Think I'm pushing my luck a bit too much. Interesting to see what shape it's all in by the time I get down it!
