Anyone used it recently? Is it still based in Kendal with the guy who knows what he's doing?

Cheers.

Id sent it to an expert (TfT, Mojo, Loco) rather than take it into a shop who will send it on to one of their in-house so-called experts.
mate had a headshock done recently by evans, had to go back as it was totally locked out (too much oil?), they hadnt told him it had to be sent off until he returned it and they had to admit it would have to go off again to find out what was wrong and fix it (they didnt say which branch it went to).

Loco posts on here and his prices are reasonable.

Robin in Kendal still does it and they are Scott UK suspension centre so if you send a Scott shock to get serviced that is where it ends up.

My experience with the Kendal store has been excellent and they always seem willing to talk to customers. I know others have had problems with other stores but I have only used Kendal and haven't had any problems.

They fixed my forks. But I sort of which I'd spent more and gone to TFtuned I'm worried the bushings might still be tight

The main issue at the moment is that everyone is busy

TFtuned needed me to book 1.5 weeks ahead
Mojo said 2 or 3 weeks turn around
Loco said no space unril 27 June
Evans needed more than a weeks notice for my forks in May

I was tempted to use Evans as could only find good things written about this Robin guy in Kendal but I then read they also have a suspension centre down south (Gatwick?) and they go to whichever is nearer so mine wouldn't have ended up with him.

I decided in the end to try Loco as the price is similar and so many good things have been written about him on here, in fact maybe too much nice stuff - I spent yesterday evening taking my forks and shock off my bike and cleaning and packing them up naively thinking I'd be able to send them off to him this week, only to find out there is a five week wait for a slot 🙁

Robin, the suspension service guy at Evans (based at the Kendal branch) is excellent. He's been on all the courses, he deals exclusively with suspension, he's got all the tools and parts along with his own suspension-specific workshop and he's as good as TFT/Mojo. And no-one else deals with Scott shocks either. He did a similar job when he worked at Bike Treks and everyone thought he was great - now that he's at Evans suddenly he's shit? How does that work then? Or is it just that the word "Evans" has brought out all the usual suspects to bash it?

Robin posts on here every once in a while or you can always call him to talk through your requirements. 01539 740087.

No one is saying that on this thread.

FWIW I use the Kendal Evans branch quite a bit and they've always provided excellent service. Not had any suspension work done though.

OK thanks everyone - it's not urgent but I just fancied saving a bit of cash as I could do with both forks and shock serviced, and I can take them in in person to Kendal.

Hi Grum,
Our next available service date is Wednesday 2nd May and we turn most jobs around within 24hrs. Our service center is based above the Kendal branch of Evans and runs separately from the store but we're happy to have people call in personally. The service center is run by myself (Robin) and my 2nd technician and this is the only suspsnsion repair centre for the entire company. There is no service centre at our southern head office.

Also @ Ampthill - If you feel your bushes are a little tight then we'd be happy to take another look. We want you to be happy with your fork.

Tel. 015397 32262 / email suspensionservicing@evanscycles.com
