Do they match in the shop against web prices or is it just web v web and shop v shop?

Of more interest, anyone used it post purchase?
It looks like I can happily buy in the shop then drop them a mail when I get home and they'll refund me the difference between that the cheapest web price I can find from their list.

they price match online prices in the shop so long as it is UK based website (will also add on delivery charge if that applies)

its less hassle getting them to do it in the shop than purchasing and then contacting them afterwards

I have used it for a lock comparing against Amazon prices. This was not post purchase though.

I've found it to be online UK and instock. Instock is key (and a fair requirement).

I've used this a number of times and they are more than happy to honour.

All you have to do is load it up on your phone and show them at the till.

Yup, as above, used in store a couple of times.... compared with 'All Terrain Cycles' in Saltaire once too, so it's not just big (CRC/Wiggle) or chain shops they'll match against.

Check first who they price match with. They wouldn't price match a Genesis Day 1 from twelve50bikes so i didn't but from them.

Odd. Was that a price you could show them online? I've never had a problem, just done the research first, found the cheapest online price (as above, whether that be Merlin, or someone like Winstanleysbikes or JeJames - who probably wouldnt have it in stock in reality, though shown in stock on the web) and showed them instore. I don't think I've ever paid full price at Evans in fact!

I've done it a couple of times for clothing/shoes where I wanted to try them on. Just took a print out of the web page for them to match against.

Thanks all. Bought myself a Gore phantom jacket at lunch time. Asked them to price match wiggle @ £99.99. They didn't even want to see it on my phone, they just changed the price there and then.

Perfect for clothes. Just a shame that they don't keep stock lots of bike parts and stuff I buy more often otherwise I'd buy more price matched stuff from them.

I've used it lots too - and they've often checked on t'internet while I've been in the shop when I couldn't remember the actual price on a website.

Absolutely brilliant in my opinion.

Got a grand and a half of my road bike as they price matched an ex demo model.

Also saved a packet on gore clothing

Pretty much everything I buy from Evans I get them to do a price match and they have never queried or denied anything. As they have one of their larger shops only about 100m away, it's very handy for me.

They do price match but its worth noting that they have recently changed their policy so that they only match online cycle shops. Might sound obvious but they used to price match against Decathlon but dont anymore. I know that because i was after a GoPro HD camera which was quite a bit cheaper at Decathlon and they werent interested...

Never had a problem with them price matching so I always check before I go into the local Evans - they are pretty careful to make sure that the site they are comparing against has your size/colour in stock though!

They can do it on their computer in store. They have a price matching system with all the popular sites listed anyway.

At least that was my experience with the new Guildford branch. I'd forgotten about the price match and just sounded disinterested given the price and they piped up saying they could price match and went over to the computer. Scanned through and found a decent price.

New branch though with positive and enthusiastic staff still.

Could be they only price match against what's in the approved list also.

On-line they're a PITA about price-matching, seem much more relaxed in-store. Bought an Exposure Strada recently to try out and figured was less hassle buying from Evans on-line as could just return it to their store rather than the hassle of posting back. Took 4 attempts before they agreed a price match (OK two were out of stock or couldn't be confirmed) but two were places they didn't price match, if you look at the T&C on the website it's a relatively small number of online places they price-match with. http://www.evanscycles.com/help/price-match
