Anyne got a phone number for cust services as I'm being mucked about on a bike purchase.  Website says only taking email enquiries, have done this and no answer......

If you've got any numbers or personal email addresses of right managers etc it would be much appreciated..

Cheers

Facebook messenger seems to be getting the quickest results from what I've heard.
Email is replied to in order of receipt, won't get prioritised by finding a personal address sorry.

I used to like Evans. Seems like the Ashley takeover is now turning them into something akin to Planet-X.

They've gone from average to appalling over the years. Same story as usual, over expansion, hiring staff who aren't enthusiasts on minimum wage and then private equity turns up and strips every last bit of stock or goodwill from the business.

Based on my experience, that's a bit harsh on PX...

Don't buy anything online from Evans. This warning six weeks ago from a consumer journalist from the Guardian in response to a reader writing in with a complaint about Evans.

"I would not buy anything from this company unless I could pick it up, there and then, in person. When a company the size of Evans – it has 50 stores – can’t be bothered to get its press office to investigate letters like this, it says to me that it doesn’t place any value in talking to its customers." https://www.theguardian.com/money/2020/jul/20/i-feel-ive-been-taken-for-a-ride-by-evans-cycles

I was in my local branch in the last hour and all of the staff were having a moan to themselves about the new IT system, seems a lot of cart before horse action going on and causing a shat storm for the staff.

FWIW I rang the branch before going in and the number has changed to some 0343 type thing rather than local dialling code.

Same day service and parts fitted so I am not going to complain about the staff instore.

Oh God, they tried that when I was working there about 20-odd years ago! 0891 or something, you then went through a massive list of options about which store you wanted to contact. The complaints they got from it killed customer service for a fortnight until they changed it back to direct dial, local numbers.

Pretty sure the PX of pre ‘employee-owned’ times actively pursued the Ashley business model...

0891 or something,

50 50 50?

Thanks for Facebook messenger tip @jameso - that has worked for me - I got a response saying my tyre is with the courier... Would've been nice for them to use the tracker email, and I’m reserving judgement until it actually arrives, but at least they’ve been in touch

Not on FB,

I don't blame you - seems crazy that it's become the best option in a case like this.

and bike purchases on CTW scheme with money already being deducted from salary

I'm speculating but I expect there's a few people in same situ across a number of bikeschemes/RTW plans from all companies, all based on bike availability. Speaking not in an Evans sense here, just from what I know of supply chains - bike delivery dates are less unreliable now than I've ever known. Production dates are seeing delays only a few weeks out from production, components being short-shipped etc, so it's really difficult for a bike retailer to get any info from a UK brand distributor, who in turn need to get it from the production side of the brand etc.
If it's a Pinnacle bike I may have a view on ETA but it would have to be for guidance only rather than anything you can rely on RE Evans and your order - I'm treading a fine line with this as my role is purely product and factory communications etc, not incoming stock flow and orders.
