Seen something I'm after and wondering if I bank my bank details online if I'm opening myself up to a world of pain...ie will I NOT see my money again if what I've ordered goes tits-up? Anyone had any issues lately after Fat Mike's got hold of them?

Order on credit card, then you’re protected. (Having once paid by debit card for a bed shortly before the company went bust I did a bit of reading and now anything I’m paying a fair amount for in advance of delivery goes on the credit card.)

They've just opened a massive new shop in Glasgow, so something must be going right

Been using their Edinburgh branch a lot recently, including a lot of back and forth with saddles (my fault for abusing the comfort guarantee, not theirs) which required a lot of refunds etc. All been good apart from delays between Paypal and my bank, so nothing to do with Evans.

Got to give a big thumbs up to the Edinburgh branch staff, they were sick of the sight of me by the end but maintained their sense of humour (mostly 😉 ) and I eventually ended up with the perfect saddle.

They have just (last weekend) opened a concession inside the TriUK store in Shirebrook.
Mr Ashley however has also just sold his huge Sports Direct Warehouse to a Malaysian company for £120 million and he's going to rent it back from them for fifteen years. Hasn't he just sold Newcastle United as well? Sounds like he needs a quick chunk of cash for something.

Personally I wont buy anything from them now that MA owns the chain.

I've ordered a new bike for Mrs FB&C and all good.

Local staff in Havant branch were OK, not stellar, just OK.

Very happy with my new Arkrose, and picked up some shorts in store today - staff in Nottingham great as always

Yup, it’s the new one at the Fort I mean. Technically a Tri UK as well but loads of mtb (and otherwise) stuff all over the shop. the layout is a mess tbh, but the Enve and Zipp collection is impressive

I've got a couple of mates that work for them and they said things had improved a lot since Mike Ashley bought them.

Better stock levels, new brands being stocked and they all got pay rises.

I'm hoping they're OK because some of the Norco bikes are looking pretty good value.

LBS where I work price-matched them and pick up lunchtime tomorrow so no trip into the big city on the way home to pick them up (Leicester).

Picked up an XT cassette from them last week for the same price as CRC/Wiggle and used a £6 coupon they’d randomly emailed me.

I've been twice recently (Sheffield);
1. for bits and bobs including web order collection
2. to purchase a new bike

Really happy with the service. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Set the bike up well.

Had queries post purchase of the bike and the phone customer services were first class also.

No complaints.

Bought my Norco using C2W plus all the vouchers, from Gatwick. Great staff, service, and no problems with the bike a few months in.

SHAME no Clubcard boost vouchers any more though.

I use Evans in Leeds all the time, the staff don't even need to ask me my name when I collect internet orders anymore! 🙂

Never had any problems with Evans in nearly 20 years of using them, even since the takeover. They price match with all the big online retailers, and it saves waiting in for parcels.
