It comes from our warehouse and will be here in 2 days.

Really?

Do you believe that? Do you want to take a lie detector test?

Because Its been a week and I called you up and was told 'we don't carry stock of HT2 BB's and they aren't stocked at our warehouse but ordered/delivered straight from Madison.

Plus Sir, we had a stock take last week so nothing went out.

So next time you say 'we don't have it'- I'll go elsewhere. Like Merlincycles, ordered yesterday, delivered this morning.

tbh i was perfectly honest when i worked in a large chain .

I dont have it , i can order it for you , it will cost X and be here in a couple of weeks (as thats what it took) You might have better options if you need it in a rush and thats fair enough.

but then i didnt work in sales i was a spanner monkey and thus was never on sales targets 😀

Evans seem to have a particular problem with stockng/getting hold of HT2 BBs IME, f*ck knows why

Evans don't hold stock of Shimano HT2 BBs? An (almost) standard consumable for many modern bikes? You are kidding me?

Just a boggo Deore. How much do they cost to hold? Its hardly a rare/high value item is it.

DBW - totally agree, normal consumable.

Last time I went in on spec to ask for a HT2 BB, you would have thought I'd asked for a custom one made from gold and llama eyebrows or something

Hora. You still haven't got this, have you? I've told you this repeatedly.

In any industry, all shops in an area will share information, and have a list, with photographs or known shoplifters and problem customers to be avoided at all costs.

I've seen the one that is distributed to North West Bike Shops. It has this picture...

[img] [/img]

Scrawled underneath it says DO NOT SERVE!! UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! A WARRANTY CLAIM WAITING TO HAPPEN!!!!

They've loads of them in. They just don't want to sell them to you 😀

I placed a 'special order' for a Tortec rack spare part, nothing obscure like a BB!

Was told many weeks later that no longer available. Almost a year later part turns up in post and card gets debited.

I was glad to have the part but overall a weird transaction.

In fairness to my local Evans(Brighton), I got them to order in a bike for me in a different size to what they had in stock to test fit, Ordered on Friday, came on the Monday just like they said it would.

You've gotta be a fool to order a BB from anywhere but Rose bikes!

Sad reality is most times people go to a local bike shop is that they can't wait for an online delivery and want something now even if it means that they pay a little extra... but when basic parts aren't stocked then online wins every time.
