I've chance to go to Eurobike during the trade days (friend is in the trade) is it worth going as a regular punter?

With flights, trains, hotel and admission it'll be a £400ish for a couple of days 😬

Enough cool stuff to geek on or just endless tat?

If it's anything like the UK Cycle show I woudn't bother - waste of 17 quid!

I quite enjoyed Eurobike when it was at Fredrikshaven. I went on punters day not trade day... lots to see and fondle, some freebies to collect like stickers and stuff if you have kids. I cant recall any deals on stuff to buy but it was interesting. Walls and walls of helmets in every colour combo known to man. Shopping e-bikes and amongst it all some really interesting kit. 400quid though... hmmm.

Local transport or accommodation challenges aside the old Friedrichshafen venue and area was a much nicer place to be than the current venue in Frankfurt. It's far better than the UK shows but £400 plus the flight impact to wander around essentially a giant bike shop? Nah, I'd not bother personally.
I really miss riding out to the Friedrichshafen show. Did it a few times, a few long days touring then the show and dinner and a beer with catch-ups by Lake Constance. The highlight of the work year in the past.

I've came to that conclusion. As interesting as it might be I'd sooner put the time and money into riding further afield in the UK.
