I've got a set of foam lockons on my KTM and to be honest they're knackered, the foam has compressed massively and it now feels almost like they're down to the bar where the heel of my palm sits.

I really like the feel of them, so I was wondering what are the ESi racers edge or chunky grips like?

I've got Chunky's on my Superfly, they're great, very comfy, a lot grippier than foam - I found foam got slippery without gloves when wet.

I love them, I've tried foam in the past as well but the ESi's are noticeably comfier. They just seem to compress differently, not sure how to explain it tbh.

+1 on ESI being ace.

They seem expensive, then you try them and you wonder why you worried about it.

Comfy, but ripped mine within 2 weeks.

They are ace but get shredded pretty easy.. I seem to go through them like nobodies business.

Been impressed so far with superstar's silicone lock ons, similar comfort and levels of grip but ends are less fragile due to the collars.

I won't use anything else, but they are easily damaged.

The ESIs feel lovely but they're really not very durable at all.

Agree with that, I took a large chunk out of mine riding into a tree.

esi are awesome very grippy in the wet with or without gloves, mine seem to be fine in the middle but cut up on the ends from trees and dropping bike on ground, crashes etc
They are lot more comfy than my ODI Ruffians.

I had a pair of chunkys and thought they were fab, best grips I've used. 1 hefty crash when the bars dug into the ground and they were ruined. The grip got squashed up the handlebar and I couldn't get the grip to return to normal again. Just got a pair of superstar silicone lock on but not ridden with them yet so can't compare.

Thinking of changing to some thing else... Can't decide what though.

I was going to try the Superstar ones but they're not really much cheaper, and they are heavier.

I tried them for a few weeks and really didn't get on with them. I found the ESI really slippery if you get a bit of mud on either the grip or gloves (not what most people seem to say) and I'd already taken chunks out of them. I didn't find them any more comfortable than bog standard foam grips, which again is subjective and the opposite to what most suggest. I've just stuck with Bontrager X-Lite foams since and not had any issues. Worth a try though to see what you think!

FWIW I don't have much issue with mine getting torn up - but then I do run bar ends on that bike*

*they help me climb faster to evade the fashion police.

Don't understand you guys saying they are still grip in the wet. You must have different rain to me. I tried them without gloves in the rain and they were terrible.

I have the racers edge and not convinced of the comfort claims although I like the feel when riding without gloves.

I have used esi for a long time. Quite interested in the lizard skins DSP which were in fresh goods.

superstrcomponents have started importing clones and they are nice. Not quite as chunky as the thicker ones but I've got on with them really well.
