just looking at commute routes to my new job; currently my wife drops me at her school in Woking and I train to Esher and then go from there. Coming home it's bike-train-and then bike back from Woking which is another 30 mins this end.
Once holidays start I either need t'wife to get up early (not gonna happen) or I'm B-T-B at both ends, which sounds OK but is a bit more than I'd like.
Been instead looking at train Guildford to Claygate which would add about 5 mins or so to the work end but cuts my home end of the cycling to max 10 mins.
So looking at the Claygate map, there's a path right across Littleworth Common. Is it bike friendly, if your bike is a Brompton with teenyweeny wheels? Or do I have to battle up the main road or pick my way through the little ones to then go up Ember Lane?
The path across littleworth common will be mostly ok, its just dirt at the claygate end good surface in the middle and can get muddy at the esher end.
