So I'm guessing most have done it on here, bought a bike thinking its the right one and just not getting to grips with it and moving on chucking dollar after dollar trying to find the right one .
I`ve owned my latest ride for 8 months now and I have to admit I really didn't get on with it at first, felt to slack to light to short and its chucked me out the front a few times too ,something which my 29er never did, the grim realization is I was just trying a harder faster and rockier routes, It got to the point I was going to sell it and move on again ,but slowly ride after ride I started to feel a little more connected to the two wheeled A+E chaser,
In the last 4 weeks ive given the bike a few Dark Peak runs a couple of weekends in the Lakes, and slowly its grown and grown on me , today I knocked a 55k run around Saddleworth and West Yorks the decents flowed seamlessly pumping and moving the bike around like a 3rd leg 😉 Its taken the best part of 8 months to get that just brilliant feeling but by god after cleaning the dirty bugger down tonight it now has a special place in my heart /head

Just thought id share

I'm afraid that I seem to be moving in the opposite direction to you with the gel to a new bike.

It disappoints me to say that I can't get on with my Jones Spaceframe bike.

I bought it as a rolling chassis off a forum member, and have built it up into a complete bike. Changed a few things like the bend bars to open loops, but I can't get on with it.

It has agrivated an old injury, I have seen a cyclist physio who has helped me understand what is happening, but essentially the rigid fame is not doing me any favours.

Will be listed for sale very shortly in the classifieds.

Like the recent thread by ton, this bike isn't going to work for me sadly.

zinaru

only about 5 weeks I suppose.

Problem is that my left leg and right arm and shoulder are giving me alot of pain during the ride, and more after it.

The hardtail and full suss give me an easier ride (kind of obvious I know), but my body can't take the pounding.

Have considered just selling the frame and buying a Jones diamond frame as a tourer. The riding position is fine, its the lack of any suspension really, I genuinely thought it would be ok.

Regards

Denis
