What is either planned (holidays, weekends) or on 'The List' to do this year given the chance?
Photo's to inspire, will of course gain extra brownie points....
All around Switzerland, Italy, France and Germany.
Tignes/Val-D'Isere this summer 2nd week of July, 12 of us staying at Chalet Chardons in Les Breviere as recommended by STW.
Hopefully the Alps got less late season snow than last year so it will be nice and clear by then. I'm monitoring the webcams already to check, and the lower snow is gone already, so fingers crossed!!
We will pop down to LA for one day though to ride La Varda again and a few other cheeky trails.
Stoner is that PDS?
A week in South Wales in July, probably a long weekend in/around Fort William, a week with Riviera Bike come September, and a ton of just riding around here. There's a load of riding within a couple of hours that I've never done just because of the convenience and brilliance of the tweed valley so I want to tick some of that off.
In a month's time I'll be in Greece for most of the summer/autumn - Platsa, in the Southern Pelloponese, so that's where I'll be riding.
Dan, yes view across les Crosets to the Swiss wall (Swiss side of Mosettes). Showing Swiss National DH
Swaledale! Gods valley.
Our two week holiday this year will be in Cornwall and as an incentive to stay in one place the wife has said I can take my bike! which is ace. So that means I will have 2 weeks of a ride virtaully every day for 2/3 hours early morning around the St Ives area. Lovely bits of coast round there and a few hills so I'll have to get busy with the map.
I'm also planning a solo trip to the lakes early september. I have a hankering to visit Ennerdale, so more scenic than tech!
Sadly my wife has determined to take me to the one part of Scotland that has no mountain biking whatsoever 🙁
But I do have a cheeky long weekend in the Alps, so all is not lost!
That's a great photo Stoner with some fantastic riding contained therein. The swiss DH course is brilliant fun even for mortal trail riders.
Spain - Ciclo Montana next week. Ardeche in September. Probably Spain again in November. Man of my age needs to take every opportunity he can to ride in fantastic places.
Now I've seen Stoner's pic tho... wonder if we should do a family alps holiday 🙂
Your Ardeche and Slovenia pics are always v tempting too Al.
Nowhere planned, but we're jolly excited about doing the Naughty Northumbrian Enduro on October 1st! I would like to ride other natural stuff around the country though- maybe this year!
September feels like a long way away

Norfolk is not in Scotland.
Where btw?.
I'll be spending a few days riding round most of the Highlands. (There may be a bit of hike-a-bike involved)
Breaking News! In addition to my "Lads" trip in July, my wife has just agreed to a family Alps mini-break over my birthday on August Bank Holiday!!
To the sports hall to vote.

After a several year hiatus (sort of) I'll be back in Morzine for the PDS weekend and following week. I can't wait - but I'm terrified I'll miss my family too much and end up sulking for the second-half.
Llandegla May BH - I was meant to go at the weekend but was ill, again.
BPW, well it's 20 mins from my house...
But, I think the bulk of it - for the first time in 12 years might be out of 'offical' Mountain Bike Venues, I've really fallen in love with stuff on my doorstep.
(I did actually take this one).
I even plan to get over my social anxiety and take up Molgrips offer of a meet / ride.
Blimey that's a quick result Dan! I shall sort out my commission from the PDS tourist board later today... 😉
North Wales. But mostly running this year due to the idiocy of entering a half marathon.
the one part of Scotland that has no mountain biking whatsoever
Cambuslang?
I know where i'll you'll be! :p
Yeah baby 8)
Les Gets for first 10 days of July. Hiking and biking.
I also have a date with the Northwest of Scotland on the cards for a long weekend this summer, hiking and biking.
*This* is what I am hoping for...

Stoner - I think we will be heading for the Tarantaise area. My mate has an apartment in Ste Foy, or maybe Tignes again, as I'll know my way around, and the free Tignes carte/liftpass is a great attraction.
Mongolia 8)
French alps, following the dauphine. Mainly roadie stuff.

Pray tell ... curious to know about this planned adventure.
We're heading back to Vancouver so have the Chilcotins planned along with Whistler and Squamish and if I can get away with it perhaps Washington and Kootnays as well
Okay, Mongolia; we basically decided whether we wanted a new bathroom or a holiday we'd seen a few years ago and wanted to do. The decision was:
Yuts (well, Gers) away!
Taking a break from Les Arcs this year with a trip to Verbier instead.
Still got lots of holiday left though, so a last minute end-of-season trip to Whiteroom is always possible...
Ridgeway end to end and SDW end to end
Lots of local riding and lots of shorter easier routes with my lad who is getting seriously into mtb.
Lots of time at the race track as bmx appears to be taking over the household! This is a very good thing, but it does mean I'm permanently injured!
I'm away for a week on my first trip with BasqueMTB in June. I'm also definitely going to ride the Ciaran path / Devil's Staircase this before autumn, but sure exactly when. I have high hopes of spending a couple of weekends in the peaks as well and finally making it to Aviemore to rent a fatbike. 🙂
Inverness to Glasgow (road via Aviemore and some distilleries)
Lakes weekend MTB
5 days doing approx 2/3 of the Swiss Traversee du jura MTB (touring)
Happy days
Northern Italy/France to coincide with the last week of the Tour de France.
Sestreire/Finestre loops
Colle del Nivolet
Izoard on the day the race goes up it, watch the women's race too.
Lacets du Montvernier/Col du Chaussy
La Toussuire
Something else on the last day.
Should be fun.
^ that could tempt me onto a road bike....
Attempting the Galerien, a week after my iron man/duathlony type thing. Not holding out too much hope of success.
So far, all that's planned is a weekend away on my first trip to BPW, with the younger dudes in our club.
BPW on a hardtail, anyone? 😯
IHN - will look forward to some pics and a write up...looks great

Harris. It's nice to look at, but very little riding. There's the little loop round the coastal path by Tarbert, and a long sloggy bogfest through a giant bog round the north side of An Cliseam. Both are nice enough, but not very exciting.
One option is to take a cheeky trip on the ferry over to Skye for a couple of days and see if she notices I've gone.
EDIT: I guess doing the Renigadale loop anti-clockwise could be quite fun, with that big drop into the sea.
chipster - MemberBPW on a hardtail, anyone?
Fine tbh! I didn't do any of the big jumps but almost everything else. Great day out on either bike.
The usual week long family holiday to the Dumfries area in May (likely to be the last this year though sadly) and then a week on the Gower in August.
Other than that my 8.30am curfew tends to limit my riding to cannock so I don't have to get up before 6 at the weekend to get a decent ride in. Planning to stray off the main trails a bit more this year, it's my back garden and I only know a tiny % of it.
2 weeks in Scotland in May for us - hoping to bike pack. Also got holiday in September and currently debating if we can pull together enough money for a week with Basque as well as the DIY which needs doing with the house. Otherwise Peaks, Yorkshire Dales, Lakes and Wales all likely to be visited too.
Last year my Alps trip involved cycling around the roads of Deauville on my 160mm bike so this year hoping for a few days in each of these;
Join my mates trip in mid-July, venue yet to be decided
Morzine to co-incide with Weeksy and other STWers
Followed by a few days in Verbier (sadly my good friend and host (ie free accomodation) has decided to move to Munich)
Vosges - fingers crossed for a September pedal up long weekend
Weather permitting, I'm going to try some of the Ikneild way and Ridgeway June bank holiday weekend as a kit test and me test for my trip to Europe. Ideally want to do it in a day.
Then just over a month later I'm off to Belgium for the 5 Countries tour details here
We are off to the Outer Hebrides road bike touring and walking
@Alex Leigh, where in the Ardeche were those photos taken? Cool looking trail!
Plenty of riding in the Peak & Cannock, plus the very limited local stuff.
My first ever overseas holiday, a week in the Pyrenees with Altitude Adventure, I'm mega excited about this!

3-4 weekends in Wales, two of which are going to include BPW. Also want to get back to Nant y Arian as the Mrs fancies it.

Hopefully a week somewhere warm late October/early November with the Mrs, current thinking is Tenerife and Lavatrax.
Megavalanche
Ardrock
Peebles
Molini with Riviera Bike
Plus the usual local(ish) rides in Shropshire/FOD
Only definite is 'Ard Rock.
Once the camper is fully finished though, we're planning a 3 week or so UK road trip in August and I'll be taking the Rocket along, so the route I plan might end up accidentally taking in some good riding spots.
Thinking a long loop around the Dales, Glentress, Fort Bill, some of the western Stanes, Lakes, North Wales, Mid Wales, South Wales, and so on...
Lavatrax is a fun way to spend time on Tenerife. Had some great rides with Darran.
@Alex Leigh, where in the Ardeche were those photos taken? Cool looking trail!
Photos 1 and 3 are the ride out of Les Vans. It's an amazing day out. Need to shuttle to the top and it's still a 40km/1200m of climbing ride. That descent is incredible but there's another one that runs through some woods for about 20 mins.
And then a spin back into les vans for beer while someone else fetches the van 🙂 If you want a GPX, drop me a mail and I'll send it over.
Photo 2 is Val Gorge. Has some exposure. Again if you want the GPX let me know, it's doable without a shuttle but you'll need to be prepared for a very long road climb!
Western Isles and Wester Ross loop with CynicAl and Boblo in a couple of weeks. Can't wait.
