No codes involved.

New summer toy. Took me a long time to find the right thing, but this appears to be it. Stock medium Enigma Elite HSS geo, but with the seat tube off a small to give more seat pin exposure, and therefore a bit more give (also as an MTBer my aesthetic taste is to compact rather than traditional roadie frames), plus a custom paint job designed by me and executed stunningly well by Jaco at Enigma Paintworks.

Drivetrain all secondhand off ebay (not that you'd know to look at it) with the exception of an Ultegra cassette & chain. Wheels from JRA, the rest a mix of second hand, extra discount offers, voucher codes etc. 7.4kg as pictured.

First ride suggests its a lot smoother over buzzy tarmac than my old Santa Cruz Roadster (that could be the tubeless tyres though). Much, much stiffer under power and heavy braking, although this does translate into more harshness over potholes & broken tarmac than previous. Front end is a little higher than I'm used to (was expecting this, but not yet sure I like it). Didn't get chance to really test the handling as I got stuck behind an old dear in a Micra on the swoopy descent I did.

Mixing Campag mechs/shifters with a Shimano cassette seems to work pretty well. Shifting is fast and precise, although there's a couple of gears near the top end of the block that are a little noisy.

Enigma were great to deal with. No hard sell (to be honest they didn't need to), but they did just make the buying process very easy. Demo bike (available and ready to go when arranged - some shops could learn from this), easily priced custom options, open to sensible reason-based haggling and did exactly what they said they would and when.

I wanted the initials of the guys who did the work on it somewhere. I was expecting Sharpy marker under clearcoat. Instead Jaco scanned them in and created a mask.

Very nice, they make some lovely machines, they created a very clever bike for the bespoked show where the Di2 wires were replaced by conductive paint.

Jon good to see this and I guess that it was your bike I saw randomly on my FB feed from Enigma! Lovely bike. Enjoy riding it. I'll be interested to see how you get on mixing a Shimano cassette with Campy gears over the long run. Everything I've read suggests it sort of works but not quite. I wouldn't know for sure.

If you do have problems you can get Campy spaced cassettes on a Shimano spline so even if you can't convert your freeub to Campy, you should still be able to fix any issue you have.
