Once the world returns to some normality, I think I might enter some enduro races. Dont expect to be chasing podiums, it'll just be for fun and the internal challenge. I'm thinking I'd like a full face to offer a bit more reassurance and was looking at a bell super 3r as a great all round helmet which I can also use when i just fancy a day on the trails.Though I'm worried that some events might require a DH rated helmet. Is this a likelihood?
Ta in advance
Troy Lee stage helmet is a good choice. DH rated safety but really light and well vented so easy to wear all day.
I don’t really notice any difference when I wear it vs my Troy Lee A2.
I use my bell super for the odd enduro, nothing too serious. I'm sure something along the lines your looking at will be fine. You are not obliged to wear a full face but it's nice to have the option of extra protection and be able to remove it for transitions.
Met Parachute is light and lets quite a lot of air in. Def worth going full face, just takes a slide on some wet off camber roots into the side of the mouth to break some teeth. Mine has saved me on silly mistakes when trying to take it easy.
Thanks guys
Lazer Phoenix Plus is ASTM rated for downhill, quite light and only £60 if you shop around. I have one and use it all the time.
Quite a few people wear open face helmets for enduro (I don’t think many events in the U.K. stipulate full face) but I’d much rather be a bit hotter but have the added protection.
