my boss has talked me into doing a 12 hr endurance eventfor charity later on in the year as someone has dropped out.
just wondering what bikes /set ups people use and also any tips for training/equipment etc.
thanks
Solo, or a team?
If in a team then just ride as normal.
If solo, as above, but make sure it works for you for 12 hours.
Simple!
I use my "normal bike" (140mm FS)
Training wise I like long rides so can typically do 6hour road rides or mountain bike rides. If I'm building up to stuff I will try and do some longer ones too. You need to ride lots.
Setup and equipment you will figure about in long rides. Find out what you can eat on a bike for 12 hours, make sure your position is comfy etc.
I found that getting all the weight off me and on to the bike (saddle bag, bottle cages) was great at stopping me getting back pain.
if you've not ridden long distances/times, then double padded shorts.
thanks for that,we will be doing it solo.i have a spesh camber comp.he has suggested getting something different.any thoughts
