I quite fancy some winter riding trews for a change.

I thought endura as I have a click-fast liner so it should help keep them up.

The MT500 looks heavy duty and high price.

They seem to do a humvee waterproof which might fit the bill.

Or the single track trouser.

Or, the bog standard humvee

Looking At rides of around two hours, possible cold conditions and if it is tanking down, would probably not ride at all but a bit of rain wouldn’t be avoided.

thanks

I had the Singletrack trousers and returned for a warranty after 3 weeks

the stretch part on the front ripped at seems and thought for £70 I would have had better product

i then bought Karrimor walking trousers which were great feel, stretchy around knees for pads and keep as chips

not waterproof but for cold days on the trails they are spot on

I’ve been looking at the Endura spray trousers recently. Not fully waterproof, but waterproof bum and strech fabric on the front. I wonder if they might be more useful/comfortable on rides where it isn’t raining the whole time? I’ve used Singletrack trousers on dry but cool days for a few years and quite like them, but those days are few and far between.

MT500 spray are really comfy when rain is on/off and seem pretty warm.

I have the top ones whatever they’re called. Doing it again I would get a different brand. They breathe well but they have a stupid flex patch at the back which is right where all the mud and spray is flicked up so they just let water through after a pretty short period of time. The fit is all over the place as well, I had to get something like an xxl for my 36 inch waist. Was desperate and short of time when I bought them but I wouldn’t buy them again.

raceface now do the agent short in a trouser. Based on my experience with their short I’d certainly look at them.

I bought the MT500 spray shorts a year ago and wore them through the winter, expecting them to get trashed. They’ve lasted way better than I’d anticipated (from everything I’d read about waterproof / resistant shorts) so bought the trousers a few weeks back. I’ve only worn the trousers once so far in the chilly snap we had and they were pretty pleasant with 3/4 bibs and knee pads under. I’m looking forward to trying them in proper Peak District winter conditions soon...

Look at madison range. I bought these and quite like. More water repellent soft shell than full waterproof.  But prefer fit and breathability of these.

I have the humvee. Bog standard version. Out today and it peed down for 4 hours but I never felt uncomfortable. They let a bit of water in but not a lot and what did come in dried pretty quickly. Quite happy with them.
