Can anyone give me a comparison of Endura v Madison sizing? Particularly in jackets.
I'm normally a "spot on" medium in Endura MT500 jackets and looking at a Madison Flux. Size chart suggests medium would be ok but there's no note of body length, which can sometimes be a bit short in mediums for me.
Nowhere local to try and it's a club issue jacket so have no option but to get this particular jacket so no "buy local" smart arse comments.
Do the club not have a small stick of different sizes you can try? Endura sizing is hopeless, I've had essentially the same garment produced in different years that fit wildly different. I'd tend to say size up, but it's a massive lottery.
After vowing to stop using them I keep getting sucked back in with a sale bargain when I need something new. Invariably it gets sent back because it doesn't fit, and I always check my actual measurements against the size charts.Â
Good luck!Â
Controversially, I've always been lucky with Endura sizing. If it's Medium, it fits. My experience with Madison clothing is the exact opposite, but I've only tried their legwear. I have padded lycra shorts that are baggy on me and waterproof trousers that, when pulled up to my crotch, don't reach my waist.Â
I have a fair bit of Madison gear, but not a jacket.
Anyway, I generally find it true to size - but in your case I think you should contact their CS and ask about the specific garment length. They should be happy to help if it's a club order.
I've got one of the Madison windproof jackets in large, which fits as expected. Shorts and riding trews in large as well and they are fine.Â
Endura - I've currently got a Singletrack jacket in large, which I could wear a thick casual fleece underneath and it would still have space, and also a Primaloft insulated jacket in large which is tight enough that I might need an XXL. I understand that this is a Pro SL fit, so far more fitted then the Singletrack jacket, but the difference is massive.
I'm not sure that helps - in Madison clothing I'm always large! 42" chest, 179cm tall, 82kg.
I've got an Endura long sleeved base layer, two pairs of shorts, two different jackets and they all fit perfectly in medium, nothing starnge about them.
Â
I also have some Madison dungarees or waterproof bib trousers as they call them - also medium (long leg option) and they fit fine - albeit a bit snug when the beer belly is left unchecked
I had an Endura MT500 in Size large and found it pretty roomy, could fit a thin puffy jacket underneath it no bother. (Equivalent to TNF / Patagonia style fit in non-bike jackets)
Not sure about the Flux, but I won (!!) a Madison Roam 2.5L jacket in a competition a couple years back. The Size Large was a lot more slim fitting - bordering on too small for me and only a jersey underneath too. (Probably more equivalent to Mountain Equipment in non-bike jackets)
I think Endura have been known to be a bit fast & loose with sizing though so take what I say with a pinch of salt.Â
