Thought I'd found a bargain last week when I saw the Endura Hummvee II 3/4 length shorts on CRC for £38 but when they arrived the fit seems... kinda weird.
I have a 36" waist (as a good point of reference to others, 36" waisted Levi's 501s fit me perfectly) so I went with the XL which the size guide says is 37-39" as my other Endura stuff seems to come up a little small. Sure enough the waist fits perfectly but the width of the legs is... ridiculous.
As a child of the late 80's / early 90's I'm well aware there's a place for parachute pants and that place is in an MC Hammer video. Not on the trails.
Is this normal for these? Anyone else had this issue? Any recommendations for alternatives with a less pantaloon-esque fit?
I know exactly what you mean. I've had a pair of the Hummvee II for yonks but they're pretty worn now. At that price thought I'd order exactly the same size as a direct replacement. Sent them straight back for the reasons you said - they just look ridiculous! Also now looking for alternatives..
Sounds like you are kitted out to join the 20 minuters
TLD Skyline. Half price saddleback
Decathlon Rockrider trousers.
Endura make up sizing as the go along. I always like supporting them as they’re local, but they make it hard
Endura sizing is just a random number generator. I've got several pairs of L shorts and they are all different sizes, ranging from comfortable all the way to can't get them over my thighs! I like Endura stuff but as Mashr says, it's bloody hard to buy clothing when the sizing is so inconsistent.
Cheers for the tip mudfish! Skylines ordered from Saddleback, MC Hammer’s hand-me-downs are on their way back to CRC.
