Tighter than the helium you were asking about yesterday. It might be a bit thinner too.
thanks jimjam - I tried a Helium on at lunchtime, didn't like the stretchy cuffs and found I was a bit between the M and L.
Shop doesn't have any MTR Shell's in stock but can order in for me - have asked them to get an L
they do look mighty thin though, like as if my Evoc pack will rub the shoulders away ....
I've got a medium and it's definitely at the small end of medium.
Main issue is the stretchy cuffs aren't very stretchy so if you've got big hands or chunky gloves on it's a bit of a stretch.
Can't speak for the longevity of it as I've not used it all that much but it coped really well with some proper torrential rain and it packs down to nothing.
Thanks for that mr_stru. The cuffs may be an issue as found them awkward on the Helium I tried today. Will see how it feels on, cheers.
Same here as mr_stru - I've got a medium, its definitely a 'race fit' medium.
Narrow around the neck in particular when fully zipped up. Packs away tiny, easy fit in a rear jersey pocket, neat elasticated loop tucks away in the neckband.
Not the most waterproof jacket I've ever owned, not as effective as my transparent dhb race jacket, but not bad.
Thanks, plan is for a light simple shell for mtb use only. Don't want to spend double the amount on a Gore and I have a Stealth for winter.
As a fair weather cyclist it is perfect! Sizing is the same as the other endura stuff I have (large=normal man sized)
Take a look at the PARAMO Smock, its got a Scalloped back for riding, the arms are plenty long enough although they are Velcro which doesnt bother me, also its got a Hood. NONE detachable so not to everyones taste but on the odd occasion ehere i popped up the hood i was glad i had it.
£55, i dont think thats too expensive, cheaper than Gore Tex and more resistant to Thorns than the HOWIES one that shredded on its 2nd or 3rd outing.
Spend double and buy the Rab jacket of mine that you tried. Alternatively, the Keela Saxon is really light, packs small, is breathable and comes with a proper hood and pockets for the same price as the Endura. You're welcome to try mine!
My quest seems complete. Picked up a large orange one at LBS yesterday and it looks ideal. Great arm length, tight on body but has stretch panels and won't be worn over bulky stuff - 5ft 10 and 12.5 stone, I think XL would be flappy on the arms.
Perfect small and packable so will go in Evoc instead of the Dfyi on damp days.
Sanny - the Rab was perfect but no way can I squeeze it past the boss at £200 !
