What's the forum verdict on the longevity of these shorts (not the previous version). Not bothered about how shit the silly little belt or liner is. Zips, material that kind of thing.

Endura stuff seems to have gone on a cost reduction diet in recent years. The original Singletrack 2 shorts were as hard as nails!

Loving mine. They are my go to shorts. But the blummin' belt is a pain. It falls from the shorts at almost every opportunity. Grrr.

So I bought a second pair. Love 'em.

I only got a pair about 6 weeks ago. My main reason being they have a reinforced arse panel. I wear through other shorts in about 6 months normally because the manufacturers don't seem to take into account that i'll be sitting and sliding around on my backside.

Two rides in and some of the stitching was already coming undone. Given I bought them from a bikeshop in Wales and live in Oz I thought i'd email Endura with a photo and ask what they'll do if they really fall apart ... answer was basically "not our problem, get in touch with the shop you got them from."

Aside from that, i'm really happy with them. But suspect a 'stitch in time' will be required.

I’ve got the 3/4 length version for spring/autumn/ooo it’s a bit nippy rides; as above, aside from the belt they’re awesome. Lasted 18 months and still going strong. Hummvee gloves on the other hand… 🫤

I sent some back to Wiggle and got refund after the material on the front of of both thighs crinkled/puckered/contracted. I'd had them 2 or 3 months only washed them at 30 degrees.

Very poor material compared to the previous version.

I used to wear them all the time but they ALWAYS split at the crotch and endura wouldn't warranty them so I dont wear them any more.

The decathlon offering have been good though I'd like more pockets.

I have had a pair for years now that I really like. Good pockets, zips still work etc but the stitching in the arse is worn now. I sewed it back and they are fine, however it has made me buy a replacement pair. Got to say the material is different and way thinner on the new ones so I am not sure how they will last by comparison. Time will tell.

I got a pair about a month back. Material on the thighs has a few "pulls" in it already. Sadly they are not a patch on the Hummvee mk1 🙁

The Map Pocket on the back of the legs has changed too. The old ones were great for stuffing water bottles, assorted junk and err... maps in when used for general "day out" shorts when not on the bike.

r the material on the front of of both thighs crinkled/puckered/contracted.

I noticed that’s happened on a pair my mate has.

Had mine about 2 years. No issues.

Mine did the crinkling/puckering thing soon after I bought them (only ever washed at 30 degrees, never tumble-dried or hung over any kind of heat), but aside from that have lasted over 2 years of almost daily use.

crinkled/puckered/contracted

Seems to be an issue I've heard elsewhere. Taking the piss out of customers using lower quality materials I'm uoot.

Agreed - I had the original Singletrack shorts, plus the second version (turquoise/ blue interior) and they were made of Cordura and absolutely rock solid. I used to wear mine all the time on and off the bike. If they'd stuck to that construction they'd be my go-to shorts for life, and I'd probably be on my 4th or 5th pair by now.

I bought some 2020 Humvees and they're not bad. The Humvees were always a bit lighter and less hard-wearing than the Singletracks, and the newer ones haven't strayed too far from the design of my original (2006?) pair. They're a bit shiny and I can imagine a hot wash might not do them any favours; the cut's quite large, but they're decent enough without being mindblowingly good quality.

The originals will survive a nuclear apocalypse. My two pairs are both 10 years old and going strong. The new ones are duff. I'd look elsewhere.
