Hi all

I'm hoping to keep up my Friday commute to work through the winter (90 mins each way, a brilliant way to end the week), and I figure that there may be the odd day when it's raining. I've been very pleased with my Endura Zyne 3/4 shorts for spring / autumn, but they do get a bit clingy when wet (not a pleasant feeling, as I'm sure you'll agree).

Does anyone have any experience with the Venturi II 3/4 or Superlight waterproof shorts? Are 3/4 waterproof shorts a better bet than full length waterproof tights (eg Endura Stealth)?

Any feedback greatly appreciated, thanks.

I been using the Superlites and they are on their 3rd winter. TBH - I mainly use them when it's wet, but not raining, or for off-road. If it's proper pissing down, and it's cold, I prefer the Stealths. However, they are very warm and have now lost their waterproofing (despite repeated attempts to restore it).

Killed the Venturi 3/4s in the Peak in a matter of months, simply wore through the seat thanks to the grit and abrasion. I liked them when they were in one piece, but unimpressed with durability. The Altura equivalent are a lot cheaper and might be worth considering as an alternative buy.

ive been looking at the burner 3/4 shorts for winter, (think 3/4 version of the mt500 shorts) seem resonable price for waterproof ones??

Following a recommendation on another thread, I've just had a pair of these delivered:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/British-Army-Surplus-GORETEX-Trousers-DPM-Camo-34-88-/300464513512?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item45f514a1e8

Shall be getting them cut down and hemmed next week, but figure it's worth a punt at that price.

Highly recommend the Altura Attack's - been very good for me and currently up for 45 quid at Evans.

I tried the Army Goretex last year (got them hemmed and all by the mother-in-law), which were great as a waterproof over-short but I'd recommend sizing down quite a bit. My usual Large size were so bog that they were unrideable as they kept getting snagged an the saddle.
