So proper steering on zwift, review on DC rainmaker seems pretty positive. When racing you can cut some corners and get better line, not too bad price wise either. Might get one when they appear in stock.

Was steering using the app on the mobile that bad, after tweaking its settings?

Is the Sterzo £75 better? 😮

Not sure I get it - unless you can lean the whole bike, which you can’t on my turbo - it’s a pretty unnatural way to steer a bike isn’t it?

I've got one arriving in the next day or two! Was looking at the basic non-smart version to play on the MTB courses on Zwift, then saw this. It doesn't actually work as a smart steerer on the MTB courses yet, but I can stick the phone on the bars to try that out.

(Yes, more money than sense and have spent very little over the past few months)

I'm a long term Zwifter - over 4 years, at level 40 now, so it should get a decent amount of use.

It'll make it more immersive and interactive so it's a good thing.

Does it take into account the steerer angle, as when I made my own to go with the iPhone steering it needed to be at an angle to match or centred along the head tube imaginary line.

Not really a problem but if it got knocked or moved out of position, the frame twisted quite severely in the turbo.

Literally just watched the above, it adds more realism in that other riders become solid objects you cannot ride through. You can take better lines through corners compared to non-steerers, try and break away from non-steerers by choosing a non-standard line, but to draft you need to pay more attention to where you are compared to the rider you are trying to draft.

Sounds intresting, just seen Halfords have the smart version listed, but not available to order yet... The 10% BC discount could be very welcome though.

Would this make CX on Zwift possible?

CX Seems better suited to the computer game environment anyway

I've got a dumb sterzo.

Better than fixed front wheel but very unnatural and fair I say it horrible steering action.

I've done a couple of rides with it now... it's OK. Steering allows you to position yourself on the road, so you can cut the corners a little, choose to draft or not or weave in and out of other riders randomly. Adds a little more interest to the riding experience and I can see it being useful racing.
