2 weeks into a busted right thumb and looking at 8 weeks in a thumb cast. Ergonomics aside, i can barely muster the strength to press the 'browser back button' on my mouse so not feeling super confident that in 8 weeks or for the rest of the summer i'll be able to have the range of motion and and strength to shift my typical xtr shifter/xt mech mechanical setup.

So, any experience of any after market button shifters? R600 style climbing shifter style I guess so I could run it on the left side and have post, twinlock and shifting all from that side?

With a system like xshifter seeming to more kickstarter vaporware, Archers D1X looks interesting to run with te mechanical components that I already have.

What about the R6100 sprinter shifters? a pair of these left side and leave 'normal' shifting in place so when i'm fixed I can revert to normal di2 use.
Do these run in conjunction with a regular di2 mtb shifter or are they only for use with the road levers?

Any other thumb sufferers figured out a decent solution?

The Di2 SW-R9150 climbing shifters will work in place of a normal Di2 shifter, you just wire them directly to the display/junction box unit. You could just use a set of these on one side and once your thumb is better revert to one each side.

The stock R600 position is not MTB friendly so I 3D printed a mount for an R600 shifter to put it in a better place on my bars, closer to where a regular shifter resides.

I have a sometimes gimpy right thumb and hands that like to go numb about 2/3rds of the way through a good ride. I have been running the Archer D1x system for about a year now. It works quite well, the performance is good and the consistency and reliability are excellent. I had a little bit of a learning curve getting my old dogs used to the new shifting actions, and I tinkered with the remote positioning, but once I got the ergonomics settled for my needs it has been smooth sailing. And they have just released version 2 with significantly better battery life and faster shifting, plus updates and options for the buttons. It's well worth a hard look and the Archer guys are great.
