Ouch!
Lighting scented (hmm) candle today and noted the burner cover was missing. Let go of igniter button, shifted cover which the sparked. Slightly embarrassing incident given my job spec, but question is at incoming supply how like was I to have properly injured myself?
If you got a belt off the igniter, then not very likely to injure yourself. If you've actually had a belt off the gas supply, somehow becoming live, then very likely.
It will be from the igniter.
My little sis and I used to dare each other to stick our fingers in the hand held piezo "clicker" and squeeze the trigger.
The igniter only!
Hand held clicker one thing but what about the one wired to the mains. What pants for?
I'm pretty certain a mains igniter is not mains supply...imagine the carnage.
Its the same as a trigger thing so whether its a mains fed cooker in the kitchen, a 12v cooker in the camper or an old manual push button job, I reckon its a similar level of power.
Should be around 30,000V/cm. Ours is around 5mm of spark so 15,000V... which is perfectly safe 🙂
