Eurobike was full of them. Electric DH / Enduro bikes also. Cue 'berm-smashing / brake-bump generating' arguments over 50kg bikes at Peaslake doing 20 runs in an afternoon in about a years time.

Electric cargo bikes though, there's a winner.

do they have F1 style energy recovery/harvesting?

We used to have it on RC race cars back in the early 90's. It was called regenerative braking. Not sure they need it these days with the brushless motors and Li-ion batteries as the cars seem to have bags of power left at the end of a race.

I like electric fat bikes.....

since your carrying a ton of battery weight may as go fat tyres...
