So Looking for an event to train for/motivate and came across this:
Elan Valley MTB Challenge

I've done the BHF MTB Peak District challenge in the past, but that happened last month and I've been off the bike since new year with a dodgy hand.

So anyone done the Elan Valley one?

Any other similar events I could look at?

Thanks

I haven't done it but cheers for the heads up, consider this another bump I guess.

The Hope Mountain Marathons ate running again, albeit on a reduced calendar. The next one is based in Ruthin and is unfortunately the week after this event in the Elan Valley so perhaps a bit close. I've done a few of the MMs and they've been pretty good.

What does £35 get you?

If only they had a website that told you...

The legendary feed station will be half way around as well as all the other things everyone has become to expect at our events. First Aid cover, a quad Bike for emergencies, finishers medal, fully way marked signs that are high vis and plenty of them, and a GPX file as back up.

A few beers in the Lamb and Flag and a fight with the locals.

And before anyone starts I've got mates that live in Rhayader.

Yes I did it last year.... after being postponed a couple of times, big moorland loops, fun from memory but it had lashed it down the day before so was boggy in places... home made cakes on the 2 feed stops.... the rocky road was lush! Yep I'd do it again!
