Spotted on a road.cc article. Genius or not? The principle would be great for attaching a pair of winter studs imo, just not sure in practice.

Shown being fitted to a brand new set up. The reality will be attempting to fit them to road grimed / salted / muddy wheels covered in brake grime with frozen fingers in the dark.. What could go wrong.............
Few are stupid enough to try that qwerty
Hard to believe someone invested time and money in that idea. Hope they had plenty of both spare to start with.
I can kinda see the point if you want to fit a studded skin over a slick, for ice, but that's all I can think of really.
I don't think these are aimed at "serious" cyclists. They've been advertising around Oslo this this winter and I spoke to one of the guys for a bit when I was out and about. He said their main target market is E-bikes, there's a ton of them in here, mostly ridden purely for commuting by people who can't be arsed/don't know how to change a tyre. On that sort of bike the extra weight doesn't really factor, and as long as the zips are durable it might be a good option here for days in early winter/spring - there's often rain during the day and sub zero temps at night when leads to super icy roads and paths. For southern UK weather there's not much point apart from a few days a year.
