After some advice on a route which would place me in Edale after approximately 50-75% of said route.

Basically have a weekend coming up where the Mrs is away and I would like to do a peaks ride of approx 50-60ish miles spread over 2 days.

Preferably a big loop from somewhere south of Edale where I will park and return to the next day.

Probably asking for a lot but any routes would be appreciated, I like all the usual peak district stuff and hope to just carry the usual spares and clean set of clothes for the evening in a frame bag/back pack.

Ta

And why haven't you invited any of your 'mates' on this ride?

I was actually going to suggest it on Wednesday but just wanted to get a few details sorted, would you be up for something Danny? Rob Pryth is up for it as well.

Im liking the look of the lotl route chaps, think we will start a bit further up if we do it to try and give us roughly the same distance both days with Edale in the middle.

Which well known bits of trail does it take in? Jacobs?

Looks to be mostly off road as well.

Sorry to slightly hijack the thread but I was planning something similarish to this for a bikepacking/bivy trip up edale dark peak area sometime soon, but starting/ending in sheffield as would be catching the train up from Loughborough as I don't have a car. From a bit of rough planning I seem to have got quite a bit of the ladybower stuff in and a descent of Jacobs ladder too, but have been struggling to link to Sheffield be an interesting and non road route - ideally keeping to total distance for the 2 days under 110km.

Is this the best I can do realistically?

Why not just change at Sheffield and get the train straight to edale?

Is there anywhere good to stay overnight near the halfway point if starting/ending Lord of the Loops at Edale?

I'd throw my hat in the ring too but if all the 'lads' come it'll just turn into a massive piss up and the results will be, er, sub-optimal
