None of the forks on ours are E specific and not had a problem with any of them. Managed to pick up a new set of Factory 36s before Christmas at less than half price which will be fitted to daughters Turbo Levo once we get round to it.

Id say just go for it and have fun

The only issue I can see is that Fox won't warranty a 'normal' fork on a full fat e-bike! You're all right with a Levo SL though.

How will they know its off a Turbo Levo and not an Enduro if they have been fitted afterwards

Do you actually know that, or are you just speculating?

Total weight of rider and regular bike could easily be more than a different rider on an ebike.

An ebike specific fork may feel a little stiffer (thicker stanchions), and have a slightly different damper tune but that’s prob splitting hairs.

My Merida ebike came with Fox Factory forks and I can't fault them. Go for it.

I'm not speculating its on their website, l found out when researching for new fork on my SL. Not trying to ruin anyones party but just a heads-up. Personally I'd sooner not test out structural limits with my face😊😊

Got a link?

Or is this the ‘not more than 250w of power’ part. If so, that’s the legal limit for ebikes. More than that and it’s legally a motorbike, so if they didn’t have that they’d have to warranty forks that people had fitted to electric MX bikes, claiming they were ebikes. I imagine all bicycle fork manufacturers have that clause, they’d be mad not to.

If your ebike is compliant with the law, you’ll be fine.

They'll do the job unless you are going completely to the limit of their structural integrity, then they will fail, as will any fork.

Will you die, unfortunately this question has a definitive answer, the best you can do is follow one of the religions that believe this question isn't definitive.

So my Orbea wild Fs was fitted from Orbea without the E-bike 36’s in factory Grip2
I’d be pretty pissed if I was refused warranty even though this was fitted from factory
I spoke with a mechanic in my local shop who said the fox tech guy he is in touch with said I would struggle to feel any difference and it’s same damping as the Ebike 36 factory
Also the bike shop said it wouldn’t be an issue

The Fox eBike 36s are the 36mm forks made with thicker walls and the 34 damper inside (as the 36mm damper won't fit)

I was just about to say that. I think the 36 Ebike forks have 34 internals in.

I font get the need for this, it's only 10kg difference in bike weight, I'm 73kg, I know alot of riders that are 100kg plus, but yet they don't have special forks

Think I will carry on risking it and riding whats best for me. Never been one to follow the hype 😉
There is 30 kg between the lightest and heaviest riders in our family and we all swap between bikes. Apart from altering pressures and seat post heights nothing else gets changed.

Unless you are seeing or feeling excessive twisting of the stanchions under braking i wouldn't get too worried, and for an e-MTB i doubt anyone overuses their front brake that much, unless practicing endos or something weird!

Everything else is the same as far as i can see for ebike or normal, i.e. bottom of the steerer and bottoming out and so on.

I don't claim to be 100% sure but I thought the regular Levo put out 560 Watts.

I saw some ebike chain oil the other week.

Just goes to show it's all marketing bollix and consumers are gullible.

Nominal power (I think that’s the term) is 250 though, which is the legal definition, that allows it to be ridden without a license, tax disc and insurance.
