Just had a new motor fitted to my cube ebike after 950 miles.
The lbs has recommended regular cleaning of charging port with electrical cleaner then protection afterwards.
Not sure what to get for this so can any ebikes/electrics bods recommend anything.
Just make sure the port is shut and dont spray a hose at it.
I’ve followed the advice of not washing my ebike frame, not even with a garden hose, as much for preserving the bearings as the electrics
After a ride let mud dry then brush it off and spot clean with a wet cloth
I’ve been using Dielectric Grease to protect electrical points
My understanding is that using a small amount still allows the metal to metal contact for the electrical connection, but the dielectric grease sits around these areas which physically prevents water and grime getting near the actual contacts

As my battery is easily removable for charging, I’ve mostly taped the edges of my frames charge port, as I rarely use it, but this may not be practical for you if you are using the charge port for every ride

I've never used the charging port as I always take the battery out for charging and transporting on the bike rack.
I have used my worx washer to clean the bike but looks like I need to stop that and use a bucket and sponge on the frame
This is only one sample of anecdotal evidence but my Levo is over five years old, has done about 6500 miles and so far it’s had a motor replacement due to a slipping drive belt and that’s it in terms of extra ebike maintenance. I’ve washed it maybe twice in all that time - only if it’s going into my LBS for something and is too muddy for them to work on.
Obviously if you keep your bike in the house that could be more challenging - my garage does end up with a lot of dried mud on the floor!
If you don't use the charging port then could you stick a patch of tape over it sealing it off from the elements or (depending where it is located) wrap and ziptie a piece of old inner tube over it?
One thing I protect on my Cube Stereo 750 is the battery compartment. The Cube cover (plastic) hasn't got the greatest fitment and is reported to come off sometimes... never had that happen to me but took some advice.
I now have at the top and bottom of the battery cover an elastic, wide, velcro strap that not only stops any chance of it falling off but also makes the cover a nice tight fit. At the bottom I have it overlapping both the battery cover and the plastic bash plate sort of arrangement and this helps seal off some of the electrics the bash plate covers.
Bought a length of neoprene to make protective covers for when our bikes are on the rack. If you have a bike prone to water ingress, wouldn't it be worth covering with something all the time? I remember seeing a guy riding a Kinesis Rise with the winter cover on in the height of summer. This neoprene is a lot thinner and shouldn't cause any overheating. There's enough for 3 bikes for £16 off ebay... Guess it might look a bit shite though, if you're worried about that!

Oh yes, going to stick/sew velcro on to the neoprene to hold onto the bike

If you dont use it just get yourself a large piece of super sticky duct tape and tape over the port so no water can get in
One less thing to worry about.
The cube battery cover can be tweaked to provide a tight fit, the lock needs removing then adjust the top bolt thing.
X2 for neoprene. I bought a couple of cheap neoprene knee protectors from eBay which are even shaped to fit round the down tube/motor interface. They are not actually waterproof but they absorb a lot of the moisture and keep most of the trail generated crap out of vulnerable spots

When I have my Cube on the rear towbar rack I have one of those neoprene motor covers plus another cover for the handlebars with the controller and display electrics. Both from Amazon.... worth doing for the sake of a few quid and given the weather I've had to drive through this year it's made me a feel a bit more reassured.
As above, can you add some pictures of any mods / adaptions.
