Contemplating buying a Pinacle Ramin 3+ which comes with a 650b+ wheel set and an EBB. How much faff is involved if I want to change to and from 29" wheels regularly? will the gears (1x10 on this bike) need fettling with every time or is it simply just a case of adjusting the EBB? any decent instructional videos on the internet for the mechanically inept like myself? cheers

I can't really see why you'd need to adjust the bb?

Gears shouldn't need fettling. Especially if it's the same hub and the spacing's identical, but the position of the ebb has nothing to do with that.

You might want to move the ebb to take account for the slight difference in wheel height and BB shell height. If you're not getting pedal strikes with the 650b in, you might not need to bother doing anything.

As above, the EBB is only needed for setting up single speed. Swapping wheels will be a straight swap.

It would only need adjustment if you ever decide to run it without a mech (singlespeed or hub gear)

Agree with all the above but adding that an EBB can be used to adjust BB height when swapping between tyres and or wheels.

You won't/shouldn't need to change anything following the advice above but ..... Going from 650b+ to 29" they'll be circa 5mm change in BB height so depending where your EBB is currently set you could rotate it to counter the increase in BB height.

All that said you could just leave as is 😆

I have one and as Said above you don't really need to adjust it for 29er wheels though you can. But I can't see the point. If you felt the need it's easy though but if you do don't forget to adjust your saddle height 😉

Cheers all, will aim to have a similar circumference between the different wheelsizes and tyre choices then, sounds far simpler than I anticipated.
