I'm after a set of BB7 calipers and its hard to see passed the low prices advertised by several Hong Kong based eBay sellers.
Any experience of ordering from HK?
The Tax/import charges "bit" seems a bit grey.
I'm in HK, should be no problem. HK is a duty free port, seller has no tax to pay, may be the cause of confusion
I've had stuff from HK, tax free!
Simpleton mode on
So as a UK buyer I shouldn't expect to pay anything more than the price of the brakes i.e. no import tax/VAT/Handling etc
Simpleton mode off
got mine from there. I didnt pay any extra fees.
if its the one with the included disks you'll need to spend some time making them straight 😐
they are cheap though and work great after a bit of tinkering. the caliper has been fine.
AFAIK the seller will mark as gift of low value. Then suppose it'll depend on HM customs
A mate of mine ordered a complete set from HK, came thru within 10 days, no duty or handling fees. Only downside was when I went to fit them for him and they'd sent gear cable wire instead of brake cable 🙄 All good in the end though and he saved a few quid.
I order stuff from Hong Kong about 2/3 times a month - never had any issues, other than the some times quite long delivery times (upto a month).
As per loughour, in HK as well and eveyrthing seems to be about 30-40% cheaper than the UK.
Taken a gamble - £48 delivered.
Fingers crossed ....
