You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I've sold a few bits & pieces recently via ebay, and compared to the last time I tried selling anything which was last year sometime, people just seem to ignore whatever info you've put in the auction, and message with soft shite like "Give you £30 for it now if you'll deliver", when you've said item for collection only due to size & weight.
Once this load of stuff goes I think I'll give ebay a miss for selling for a while, just doesn't seem to be worth the effort at the moment.
BTW, wasn't bike stuff, assorted crap from a shed clearout at the weekend.
Report them as they breach ebay policy.
Doesnt seem like the worst imposition ever tbh.
You've said collection only and someone has effectively asked you to reconsider.
If you dont like the question, ignore it?
I've had great experiences with collection only items today - listed 3 things (low value and could have posted them but didn't want the hassle). 2 people emailed and asked to pick up 2 of the items and pay cash - 1 hour later and items are gone and the cash is in my pocket!
I'm wary of it at the mo. I had to list the same bike 3 times due to total time wasters, although I think maybe it was the same person twice!
Oh well, it went in the end but it is not cheap to sell on ebaym thats for sure!
any good alternatives??
don't mind questions, people never read descriptions! its the fees that have got a bit ridiculous.
E-bay just isn't the place for selling complete bikes - the reserve fee structure is ridiculous(The reserve on motors is capped at a sensible-ish kind of value). If I'm after something in particular, and the user hasn't stated otherwise, I always make an early cash offer and go collect. It just works.
It's simple.
Once you have the listings as you want them you ignore the twits who are goading you.
Make sure you are specific about the collections etc if you're adamant you won't post (for example) or that's it's an auction and you want it to run the full 7 days.
On-line, thet're Trolls. Just ignore & all will be well on your eBay travels!
