The cheaper stuff you see on there, with brandings you've never heard of. Any good for sticking on a road bike that lives on a turbo, or just plain avoid?

I don't seem to be able to post a link but you know the kind of stuff.

As long as you don't do much shifting, they are generally fine.

Spa cycles do really good chainrings.

Not quite as good as Shimano, but significantly better than FSA. They last well too, not that that matters much on a turbo.

If you do go down the cheap-brand route, just make sure they're 7075-T6 (aka Zircal and a few other names) not 6061.  6061 has about the same hardness as Laughing Cow triangles, which makes it quicker/cheaper to machine but it wears out very quickly as a result.

No issues with the no-name chainrings, possibly a touch noisy when new but they work fine.

Been running them on the kids CX / Road bikes for the last 4 years, Snail, Bucklos etc, all good.

I have a Snail one on my titus, purely because the name made me smile (it's held on with Cansucc chainring bolts for the same reason) It's been absolutely fine, tbh single rings have a pretty easy job to do and I suspect their r&d was "buy someone else's and copy it". I get the impression it's wearing faster than some, but it's definitely not doing too bad.
