I'm hoping to avoid the easyjet hold baggage charge by just paying for a bike, and splitting my clothes between the bike bag and my hand luggage. I've done this before easyjet started charging extra for hold baggage, but wondered if anyone done this recently? Problem is that the sports equipment allowance is only 12kg, and the bike bag will probably be heavier than this.
It's been done on here a few times but you're allowed 32kg in your bike bag but you are only allowed the bike (and padding) in there so you could get problems if you pack it full of clothes. You are then allowed 20kg for your hold bag which can be all your clothes.
It's all there in the small print but it's pretty hidden away.
