Hi all, looking for some easy rides in the north west which are suitable for young kids, me towing a trailer with a kid, and my dad who is nearly 60 and only rides a hybrid.
Anyone done the Glasson dock to Lancaster ride?
Is the green route at Gisburn suitable for a trailer? not been there in years so wouldn't know now.
Thanks.
Some easy ish trails around Rivington, with the barn for a snack thrown in for good measure
Glasson Dock to Lancaster is fine , maybe 5 flat miles each way, really nice cafe at the car park at Glasson end, my kids did it loads of times when they were toddlers
oh, and theres a picnic bench about half way along

I second the Lancaster area. As well as the Glasson route you can also ride out to Crook of Lune/Caton or out to Morecambe, along the prom to Hest Bank and return along the canal. There is even a new ramp down from the aqueduct to connect with the riverside path. Lots of stuff to see and do en route, all of it flat!
edit: All excellently signposted, too! I doubt Gisburn green would be worth the effort, to be honest.
Delemere forest
transpennine trail. Mostly flat, passes through urban areas.
I was going to mention delamere, nice wide trails, visitor centre for tea and cake, and if you get five minutes to yourself, go and find the hole in the hedge for the old pale downhill run.
