I'm after some new bars and came across the Easton Havoc 800mm DH bars for the bargain price of £35.

They claim to be one of the strongest Alloy bars on the market and at a reasonable weight. They are however 35mm clamp diameter so it will mean a new stem.

Has anyone tried this new 35mm standard? And does it really make it much stiffer?

I've got the 35mm Havoc Carbons on my G150, cut to 750mm. They do feel stiff and direct, and to me, not overly harsh. The alloy ones might be different though.

Id stick with 31.8. Few benefits to 35mm IMO

I'd love the carbon ones but not sure I can justly the price. Basically double rrp of the alloy ones to save 80 grams.

Apparently they are even stronger than the alloy version which sounds impressive.

Its like 27.5 and kashima all over again.

What can we make to get people to buy something they already have and don't need?

I know, 35mm stems!
