You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi all,
We are looking to get away for a week at Easter as a mixed family and biking holiday.
Ideally looking for somewhere warm where the family can stay in a hotel resort near a beach / town etc.
But be close enough to the moutains be able to arrange say 2 to 3 days guided riding (ideally getting picked up each morning)
My thoughts would be somewhere in the south of Spain near the sierra nevada (due to the number of guide companies in the area), but open to options.
So anyone done the above and where did you stay and also use for guiding?
Hi,
I am currently still on a trip in San Sebastian in the Basque Country and can highly recommend it. We are only here for a dirty long weekend away however did a days guided mtb yesterday with Basque by bike (highly recommend) who provided us with 2 Orbea Rallon bikes and offered to pick us up and drop off at our hotel. Beautiful scenery, flowy natural Singletrack and nice weather. It was raining in the morning yesterday but by the afternoon we finished at a bar on the beach in 26 degree sunshine. today did a nice walk along the coastal mountains and sat by the hotel pool in 30 degree heat. lovely sandy beaches for the kids and loads of cultural stuff to do with a bustling city to explore away from the bike. Basque by bike also were so helpful with suggesting walks for us to do today and other options to explore whilst on our weekend away. we flew into Bilbao and I would recommend getting a hire car as it just makes getting around easier.
Ask me after half term and I'l tell you if |finale is any good for a family holiday.
I hope it is
Thanks for that, sounds perfectly like what we are after, Basque MTB etc was also on my potential list for a biking holiday anyhow, but April weather in northern Spain is a bit cool at 15deg C high (we will be going first wk in april).
Finale is also on my riding bucket list. Again weather in early April is a bit cool but late April looks much better (from this year's average April weather anyhow)
Easter is good in Tenerife and has all you're looking for.
@ potdog
Cheers for the recommendation, Lavatrax guiding appears to offer what I'm after, have you used any guides?
I would also second one of the Canary Islands. Perhaps fuerteventura which would be the warmest. You will find that Southern Europe will be still too cool for a beach holiday in early April.
Just read that old Pinkbike guide (which I'm sure I've read before).
Almost sold on that.
