After the closing of Ralph Colman in Taunton, unsure where to head to to get a few bits done? just do not have the time at the moment.

I am based between Honiton and Wellington in the Blackdowns, so can anyone recommend a decent shop to get a few bits taken care of maintenance wise.

Kings Cycles used to be quite poplar many many moons ago - Wellington - not sure if even still operating.

Quick Google search confirms they are - it is a tiny shop just off the main high street in Wellington. As i say 20 ish years ago it was a popular shop / supplier.

James is the mechanic at the Bike Shed in Exeter and he’s a pretty damn good mechanic. Not sure if that’s a bit far for you.

Go & see Chaz at Roots Cycleworks in Exmouth.

He's a top bloke & a bloody good mechanic, ex team Mondraker DH World Cup.

Theres not much he doesn't know.

Bit far possibly, but chips at the beach is lovely anytime of year.

If you decide to pay him a visit, tell him Mr. Thompson says Hi!

+ 1 for Roots but the Ebford site not used the Exmouth one.
Easier to get to as you can drive right up to the door free parking.
Its up a side lane or a short walk from Darts Farm.

Cheers guys. Exmouth it is. Our offices are there and was in yesterday. So may have to make an excuse to head that way, as they aren't letting many in.
Chips for lunch of course! Perks of working in Exmouth.

Definitely give Cycle in Honiton a go, Gary and Suzi are superb. Sounds like it is probably your closest as well.

I live in Exmouth and there are 4 bike shops, Chaz at Roots, Phil at BikeWorx, Knobblies and Exmouth cycle hire. I use them all for smaller bits and jobs.

For my suspension service and bigger stuff I use Sam of Amped Cycleworx in Bridgewater, private workshop and you need to book in. Check IG for Ampedcycleworx.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Spokesman Wheels. Mark Pollard, in Ottery Saint Mary. I got him from a recommendation on here. My wheels custom built by him are the best I have ever had. Three years old and still straight.

(edit I know it's not general repairs and the like but if your previous LBS did wheels, then at some point you will be at a loss.)
