We hear all the arguements against headphones whilst cycling, but does anyone use earplugs to cut down on wind roar?

I sometimes wear them when it's very cold as I'm susceptible to ear-ache when the wind blows cold

Just turn your head to the side, and you can't hear the wind as much anymore.

Can't see where you're going either, but you can't have your cake and eat it too.

I use Etymotic ER20S musician's earplugs when playing in the band and at work when machining and things. They stop noise but you can still hear sounds and voices pretty well. I've never used them on my bike but I reckon they'd do the job.
If you've got bigger ear-holes look at the ER20. I've had several pairs from that seller on eBay too, they're very good.

What about attaching a spoiler to your helmet strap to reduce wind noise?
