Struggling to set my GX eagle up, basically I can't get the derailleur to move over enough for the 50t.

Wondering if it simply won't work on my setup.

Hope pro 4 hub boosted with the hope kit to fit a boost frame. Because it's not a boost hub it seems the cassette sits to far towards the disc side.

Please tell me theres some kind of spacer or simple issue to make it work?

Thanks

You should only need the spacer if it's a non-XD driver with Shimano 11 speed cassette.

Can you get the chain to go onto the 50t by manually pushing on the derailleur cage? If yes, then the problem is probably cable tension. If no, then you probably need to adjust the low limit screw. The B-screw also needs to be set to give a 15mm gap (I think).

I should've said, I can't push the derailleur over to it, despite what I do with the low limit screw, it just seems like it won't go far enough, even if I let the cable off too, starting to think something is bent however I had it set up prior to this on a pro 4 boost hub and it worked fine.

Which frame/dropout?

If the hanger is already moved out to the outer limits of tolerance, with a thick non removeable metal hanger, and then you've moved the chainline away from it a few extra mm with boost spacers on the non-boost hub, then perhaps you've hit the limit of travel for the mech.

That is normal, the Hope conversion kit pushes the cassette slightly inwards, so the derailleur has to reach further. It happened to me on an 11 speed setup, the derailleur could barely reach the 42T cog; I improved it a bit by shimming the jockey wheels, but the definitive fix was switching to a boost hub.

Identiti mettle, I feel like I've reached the limit.

There is a washer with the hope boost kit that is maybe 2mm thick, perhaps I'll move that to the other side and see if it moves it over enough while still letting the brake not rub.

I think that's the washer that goes on the axle, between the outer bearing and the freehub. I haven't used it when doing the conversion.

Use a proper boost conversion like the Woolftooth 'Boositnator'.

It has a single spacer for the non-drive side and a 6mm disc spacer for the disc so the cassette is in the correct position. Only disadvantage is the rim will need re-dishing 3mm towards the non-drive side.

The Hope conversion is a bit of a half way house and would better suit 11 speed or more likely non boost cranks/chain ring also being used.

Thanks for the help! I've ordered a boostinator HR kit, so fingers crossed it solves it!

I can confirm the wolf tooth kit works, my GX eagle now works and there's zero issues. Just saved me a fortune on a new hub and wheel build, thanks for the help!

I did have too re dish the wheel, it took me 15minutes to do including finding a spoke tool and watching a YouTube video.

Same as above, boostinator does the job on my 12sp eagle setup, just need the wheel redished as stated, but it can be done prior to the kit arriving as it's a set distance.

Aw nuts I was hoping to just use a centered boost adapter so I can swap wheels between frames without re-dishing... I guess I can try it first and see if I get away with it...
