My GX Eagle mech has lost all its tension. Chain's jumping off the jockey wheels over rough ground.

From what I can tell, there are no 12 speed eagle mechs anywhere. I can see some AXS upgrades available but I'd rather not spend £550.

Worryingly the retailers are saying mechs won't be available until next year!

So is there a temp solution? Will a 12 speed Shimano mech work with a SRAM shifter? Has anyone seen any eagle 12 speed mechs anywhere?

I swapped from SRAM to Shimano, purely as there was stock available.

I nearly went Microshift 11sp...

I might possibly have a spare- can't remember if it's 11 or 12 speed, I'll have a look.

12 speed Shimano mech will work with a SRAM shifter, no problems here.

You can get the 2021 SX Eagle mech (improved design more like GX) from Aliexpress iro £90 delivered. Bikeinn were supposed to be restocking Eagle soon too. Closer to home I got a GX Eagle Lunar (52T) from eBay a couple of weeks back, new ones keep popping up, if you are quick you might get one on a reasonable buyitnow price.

Behold, what may be the last Eagle mech in existence. Relentless trawling turned up Certini Bikes, who were a new one for me. Had an NX mech showing as in stock. The second I placed an order it changed to out of stock so was fully expecting a sorry we don't have it email but low and behold it turned up today!

+1 for certini.

I picked up a NX cassette from them, very good service !

They seem to be the franchisee for some of the Spesh Concept Stores so guess their supply chain is going to work better than others potentially

+1 for 12 spd shimano mechs working fine.

Also you'd be surprised by your local shops, especially those without an online presence. For example Don Skenes in Cardiff is brilliant at having stock of key stuff at the moment. I bought a set of 12 spd cranks from them when literally every online retailer had none.

One of our bikes is now a few months and a couple of hundred miles into an unbranded 11sp cassette.

It works just fine.
