Do the original 50T Eagle mechs work OK with a 51T cassette?

GX is £50 at Wiggle at the moment but don’t want to have to change the 10-51 Shimano cassette (or the freehub).

will be fine, B tension will need to be adjusted.

Cheers. Although a bit of googling suggests things can end badly with a 52T cassette, maybe that just pushes it too far.

SRAM say no.

My mate fitted a 52 tooth cassette with a 50t derailleur and says it was ok.

The difference in radius of the cassette from 50 to 52 tooth is 4mm. I think there's often a greater variance on mech hangers.

You could be unlucky and have a longer hanger but chances are it will be okay. See how much b tension adjustment you have right now.

I know it probably will work but I’ve just bought a 52T version from someone taken off a new bike, which will definitely work.
