Anyone have any experience of using a Yakima Frontloader roof mounted carrier and an e-bike? Ideally a Kenevo SL.
They supposedly can take up to 18kg which is slightly less that the weight of a KSL.
I used them for my Turbo Levo SL with no issues. Weighs around 20kg.
Turbo Levo with battery out to get the weight down. Only issue is needing to buy the extra long wheel strap as the tyres are 2.8 and physical effort for lifting onto roof.
Cheers.. sounds promising for the KSL then.
I'll get one ordered.
Battery out on a Levo SL, have you actually done that? I believe it is a faff. Maybe the same for the Kenevo SL.
I think tonyf1 is on about a full fat Levo without battery and loneonic about an SL with battery
Yep mine was with battery. I've got a tall car so getting it on and off was interesting for my skinny wee arms.
I would double check the wheelbase. I ended up sending a Frontloader back as it wasn't long enough. Ended up with the Thule one, which also happens to have a higher weight limit.
Yeah, I don't have an ebike, but if I were to buy another front wheel clamping rack it wouldn't be another Yakima one. Steel construction, no tab to pull the strap tight, no nice ratchets like the Thule, and a fair fee more niggles. I load mine up then load my son's bike on the Thule one and just think 'it's so much better thought out'. No one single thing, just lots of smaller ones.
