Having had a full power e bike turn into a 2 wheeled version of Christine and fly across the garage of its own accord  when I switched it on ! I'm fully aware that they all have their own foibles 🤔

Friend of mine has the perfect storm , Vitus E Bike ride about 6 times, fully charged just won't work , no error code nothing 🙄 Nope not playing so there ! Of course now that Ashley chap is running Evans who now sells them has made sure " nothing to do with us guvnor " 🙄

So a dead lump of metal in the garage 😔

My Orbea Rise just had a new motor from Shimano at a very good price out of warranty 😉👍

But here's the witchcraft bit ( eventually 🙄) Got back from a soggy Mendip ride Sunday bike wouldn't switch off . Well I'd switch it off then a minute later it would turn itself back on again 🤔

First thought oh here we go another 2 hour round trip to the menders 🙄 Cleaning the bike up , got to the sensor , tiny bit of dirt on it , flicked that off and voila all's good again 🙄 That wouldn't have been embarrassing, much 🤔How does that work though ? I would have thought anything blocking the sensor would have stopped the signal not the other way round?

I can understand why a bike shop I use the excellent Bad Ass Bikes at Burrington Somerset are holding out . He got so fed up with people asking there's a big sign now which says We don't do E Bike diagnostics ! He knows he'll have to give in eventually.

2 wheeled prima Donna's but we love 'em all the same ! 🤔 ( When they are playing nice 🙄)

Sintered pads + wet gritty day = dirty magnet sensor + (bike electronics x witchcraft)

2 wheel fitness compensators, and unreliable ones seemingly. I don't love 'em,  won't bother until I'm not able to ride a proper bike.

Is it that ? Cars appear to work and they are electric . Electric motorbikes work too

Maybe it’s just poor R&D or trying to make the motors too light ie motors and cycles shouldn’t be mixed at all weight people want to ride them ?

After doing the motor drop and seeing how much dust had got in there, I think it's safe to say car and motorbike electrics are rather better protected from the elements.
