Is it me or is it not possible to source a quality rear e-bike hub and Li-Battery for a self conversion?

I was looking at the hub on the Orbea Gain or the Colango but if you google e-bike hubs I just find a whole load of cheap stuff which given the price of batteries surely means the quality is not going to be there?

Would like to adapt my Specialized Diverge for commuting.

yes. Check Kinetics in Glasgow - Ben knows his stuff
Edit - he seems to only sell the pendix mid mount kit now - £1600

Be prepared to pay for quality tho and mid mount is better. One key thing for me is torque sensing not cadence - it makes the bike much more intuitive to ride. A torque sensing BB can be a couple of hundred on its own. quality e bike kits are a similar price to basic full builds with a modern mid mount motor

Heinzman are a make with a good reputation

Thanks for the that. Do most mid mount bike use torque sensing, eg Cannondale Synapse Neo?
